The passenger side front and rear window regulator's have both failed on my 2000 Elantra. I've done the research and know that they tend to fail. My question is does anyone have a good source for replacement parts?
Also, in all the times I've been in and out of the door, the plastic "vapor" barrier is pretty torn up. Should I replace that? If so can I use plastic...

G'day,
My '99 Lantra Sportswagon has started getting the check engine light come on my regular drive to and from work. usually in the morning, when it's cold (it's Winter in Australia) the light will come on after about 5-10 minutes of driving, and then stay on for the entire trip (about 25km - up to 75 minutes driving). In the afternoon, on the way home, the light will come...

Hi all,
After searching this forum, I believe that the horrible squealing we've started getting when we start the car (and sometimes on full lock too) is to do with the belts needing tightening.
My girlfriend has just been working night-shift and I don't think she'd appreciate being woken (again) by the car screeching like a banshee so...

Hey guys,
I apologize ahead of time for the somewhat newbie style first post . I'm looking to pickup another car for the cold New England winter months and daily commute. Just reinstalled a radio in my Hyundai Elantra. Before I did this, the AC was working fine and got cool almost immediately. Now the AC won't come on, I don't hear any changes in the engine noise as the car idles. Also, neither lights showing the AC is on and, I guess it's for air circulation, the circulation lights don't come on. I'm afraid maybe I did something to a wire, but...

First time poster here looking for any advise I can get. I need to replace my front calipers on my 97 Elantra. It was built in May 97' and every parts site says I need calipers that range from $90 to $150 each since it was built after March. From all the research I have done online (can't find anything here either) models after that date came with all disc brakes, but I still...

Greetings everyone,
All of the brake lights on my 1999 Hyundai Elantra are out.
I checked the fuses and bulbs and all appear to be OK.
I looked underneath the dash for the brake pedal switch, but could not see it and really have no idea how to test it.
Thanks in advance to all responses.

Hello, I'm hoping that someone here can help me out...
I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra with about 152,000 miles on it. A few weeks ago, my check engine light came on, but nothing happened and it ended up going away itself. About a week after that, it stalled at a stop, but turned back on. For awhile I have felt like the car was acting a little sluggish.

Starts fine in the morning or after its sat for a while, but after it's warmed up (a couple miles or so) it will stall when I stop for a light. So I push it to the side of the road and wait 30-45 minutes and it starts right up, but if I get on the freeway it will go for hours till I get off or hit traffic.
Could it be the CKP or maybe fuel pump... or?

Whenever I set my cruise control on my 2000 Elantra for a speed over about 71-72 mph, it surges and you can feel the gas pedal going up and down a good inch or two. It works very smoothly with almost no gas pedal movement any speed below 70, but anything over 70 surges noticeably. The surging is annoying enough I either cut it off or slow down to 70. It has been doing it ever since I bought the...

Hi, I am a new(used) Elantra owner. For "the first time in decades" the lot at my daughters flooded. Being the good mom I waded in to save the car. The water was "only" up to the console and only for the few minutes it took me to move the car. I took the car home and removed the seats and carpet. Originally the seatbelt bell dinged like crazy and the airbag light was on. After...

I have a 1996 Elantra Wagon. It turns over but won't start. I thought that it might have been the fuel filter but when it cranks over, I smell fuel. When I pulled one of the spark plug wires off and cranked the motor, there wasn't a spark. This led me to look around the ignition coil packs for a disconnected wire. Sure enough, I found one just dangling. I don't know if it even...
