On many Hyundai news scoop lists/ sites a definite LG Nav system is in the bullet list of options.
FINALLY the actual Hyundai site has the 08' Veracruz on the "Build Your Hyundai"
Came up just today. NO NAV options. Oh well Garmin 7200 is only $950 on Amazon and I love it. 7.5 inch screen, take it from car to car.
ordering our Black Diamond w/ Saddle Leather, Limited Model, 2 wheel drive. $503 a month, including tax, 24 month lease $2,500 down.

Secret websiteHas incredibly large high res photos and full option details like the Nav system manufacturer.
We're getting the Diamond Black Limited with Saddle (brown) leather. Dealer is giving us $500 below invoice on an 08' model lease.

Our new Veracruz's first road trip from Atlanta, GA to Desitn, FL gave us 20.6 MPG. We started out from Atlanta with Less than 200 miles on the odometer.
Was hoping for better than this but, I can tell the car is very stiff right now. We will see what the trip back gets us. This is amostly the exact same mileage I was getting on the Jeep Grand Cherokee we sold. The GC had the 4.7 V8 in it.

Well we got our first Veracruz in the other day. It is a black pearl GLS AWD. This is now my favorite Hyundai. The ride is so smooth and I love all of the features it comes with. Everything is lit up in blue like the Santa Fe. I did take a pic but it's on my cameraphone and I have no clue how to get it on here. If you look on ebay there are 3 of them. There is a blue limited and they state in the auction, they aren't selling it because they don't expect anymore in for a month or two. They also said some dealers have a $3,000 markup, their's is at MSRP.
I hope these sell well. I think they may take away from sales of the Entourage, not that they are that great.

I purchased A Limited FWD the other day with a $33,000 Sticker (and change) for 29,500.00,...... a great deal in my eyes...........and after a couple of days driving this vehicle........It is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned for this money.
Sure, a better vehicle might be out there, but for this money the quality of the vehicle and the ride is amazing..........the highway passing speed of this vehicle is unbeliveable......it is a rocket if you get into it at highwway speeds!!!!
Quiet as church inside
The Infinity audio has the best sound I have ever had in a vehicle.
So far getting 21 miles to the gallon with aprox. 70% highway driving at 75 mph.

Can a Veracruz be ordered from the factory? I'm looking for a specific configuration and color combination and the dealer says he can't find one or order one. Does anyone know otherwise?
Thanks!

I've uploaded pricing info on the 2008 Highlander to my site's database, so it's now possible to not only configure the new Highlander but also thoroughly compare it's price to the 2007 and to competing vehicles.
2008 Toyota Highlander pricing and specificationsThe new Highlander is priced about $2,000 higher than the Veracruz, but invoice to invoice the prices are almost identical because Toyota dealers have much wider margins.

I got back from a business trip from Maryland today, and parked next to me was a Veracruz. I took a minute to look it over since these arrived after I left the dealership. Inside, you could clearly see it had a GPS unit in the dash, with a large screen and control buttons along the side of it. It had New Jersey Vehicle Manufacturer plates on it, which means its being driven by a Hyundai employee, likely from their NJ facility (district reps get company cars too, with NJ plates even though my old rep lived in Mass). I do also know that it is very common for them to drive preproduction vehicles, which is what this Veracruz likely is. Just thought I'd share my story.

Okay, I'm in the market for a new SUV for work, having just bought my wife a Lexus GS350. So I have been following various forums and reviews about the VC. Today I actually took some time and went to the local dealer and test drove the VC Limited.
The walk around and poke and prod prior to the drive revealed a very nicely assembled car with plenty of high quality touches. Generally excellant design, and great fit and finish. When started the car was extremely quiet at idle, and the A/C cooled down quickly (FL heat!).
The drive was a real shocker, so quiet and composed. The combination of ride comfort and handling (for an SUV) were outstanding. Steering was a little light at low speed, but firmed up nicely at higher rates of speed. Acceleration was peppy and strong, and the thing is really quiet at speed on the interstate. Brakes are strong and linear. The overall feeling driving the VC was one of composure. I will wait a few months, but I think my search is over. I can't recommend this SUV too much. Its' quite an accomplishment for any car maker, and more so for Hyundai.
O, by the way, I was comparing it to M-B R, GL, and M classes, as well as a few other high end SUV's Lexus, BMW, etc.

Yesterday I took a Stanta Cruz Ltd AWD for a drive and I was impressed at the smoothness and power, but and it's a big but CA$46,000m that's 11,000 more than the Azera and though it did have a few things more than the Azzy I couldn't see $11,000 worth of them! Could it be because it's a SUV?
I actuall liked better the base Santa Cruz which also has an amber turn signal light and to me this is a safety issue. I think that in this price range it's going to be a tough sell, one could buy an infiniti M35 AWD for about 50,000 and it will have a higher resale value and a lot more cachet. The salesman told me that Hyundai is in the process of changing image, under the hyundai name one will see mostly luxo or near luxo cars and all the economy/entry level under the KIA brand.
Well we'll see how it sells as this will also give them an idea re the Genesis.

"Hyundai's new crossover in Lexus mold"
".....The base price is $32,000 plus change for Veracruz versus $38,000 plus change for an [Lexus] RX350, but the spread is more than $7,700 in Veracruz's favor when the two are similarly equipped.
Putting $7,700 in your pocket rather than the dealer's is like winning the lottery."http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/a...ack=1&cset=true

I drove a Veracruz the other day, then drove a Mazda CX-9 for the sake of comparison. The Veracruz is a solid effort, with an upscale appearance and a good amount of room in the second and third rows (though not much cargo room behind the third). I personally find it much more attractive than the Mazda. But if you're the sort of person who enjoys driving, you'll prefer the Mazda.
In other words, it's like just about any other Hyundai vs. Mazda comparison.
I do think the Hyundai's price is a bit close to the Mazda's. This makes rebates very likely.
My full review:
Hyundai Veracruz reviewYou'll see that I gave the Veracruz three out of five stars. The way I rate vehicles three stars is average. And the fact of the matter is that the average in this segment is quite good these days. I give nothing in this segment five stars, because no contender is perfect, and a vehicle would have to essentially be perfect to be that much better than today's high average.

Hyundai released pricing for the Veracruz today.
Veracruz GLS FWD $26,305
Veracruz GLS AWD $28,005
Veracruz SE FWD $28,005
Veracruz SE AWD $29,705
Veracruz Limited FWD $32,305
Veracruz Limited AWD $34,005

Mazda CX-9 Sport: $2,135 more before feature adjustment, about $1,700 more afterwards
Buick Enclave CX: $4,395 more before feature adjustment, about $2,100 more afterwards
Saturn Outlook XE: $1,295 more before feature adjustment, and about $1,300 more afterwards

DETROIT — Hyundai said its new midsize crossover, the 2007 Veracruz , will make its world debut in early January at the North American International Auto Show here.
The seven-passenger Veracruz will be aimed at such competitors as the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander, as well as the new Ford Edge. The new model will be slotted above the Santa Fe in size and price.
The '07 Veracruz will be outfitted with a DOHC 3.8-liter V6 and six-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive available as an option. Standard features include electronic stability control and side curtain airbags for all three rows.
Hyundai said it will release the first official photos later this month.
What this means to you: Hyundai's product portfolio continues to expand at a frantic pace.
