I have a 2005 Santa Fe that comes off lease in a couple of months. I've wanted to get a Veracruz, but no DVD nav/Bluetooth etc. at least in Canada. Dealers don't seem to know if the 2009 will have the LG nav system. They also don't know when the 2009's will be out. Any clue on either of these issues?

I have a 2008 Veracruz manufactured in August 2007.
According to my dealer, my outside mirrors do not tip down in reverse because this was not provided on cars prior to October 2007 manufacture date.

How is the Veracruz getting 18/25 mpg with its 3.8L V6?

The Santa Fe weighs 400 to 500 lbs less (depending on 5/7 seats and FWD/AWD), but it gets between 19/24 and 20/25 mpg (again, depending on the trim). And the Santa Fe is only a 3.3L V6.

I am wondering what would be the pros/cons of upgrading the oil to synthetic? My VC has 2600 on it at the moment, the dealer book states change every 7500 miles. I was thinking that since i drive a little harder than normal that I would change every 5000 miles. On the internet I find that the high beams are supposed to be H7 bulbs while the low beams are H11Bs.

I ordered my 2008 Veracruz Limited yesterday. The options I chose was the Navigation and I also wanted the Rear DVD Entertainment system factory installed. After searching for the car they came back to me and said I cannot have both. It is either one option or the other. Why? Does anyone know?

So it was only the morning after I bought my 08 VC GLS that I discovered it had no siderails - nothing - nada - zip on top. Dealer told me it would cost like 800$ including labor to drill holes and install them. LOL

It makes no sense a car so well equipped including mood lighting, rear climate control and seating for 7 would leave 6.5 measly square feet for all the junk those 7...

My Veracruz is two weeks old.

It came equipped with the roof side rails and the crossbars. Both Thule and Yakima tell me that I need to purchase their crossbars to install a cargo box. Is this true? Is there a cargo box that I can install directly to the factory installed crossbars??

The hitch system looks like it would ride so low to the ground, I'm shying away from that.

You cannot get a hitch reciever for the 08' Veracruz at all. The dealers cannot even order them, the part numbers don't exist.
Apparently the 07' will not fit. I called eTrailer and they have no info.

I just purchased a GLS AWD for 24320 this is an 07 with 2k in rebates. I looked at a lot of other models but felt that the Veracruz GLS was a great buy. I think Hyundai should advertise this model a bit more. I personally think the value goes down on the more equipt models and I find the gls to have most things that I need.

I am looking into the Limited AWD edition of the VC. I am interested in feedback on "wind" from current owners who drive with the roof open and have/do not have the wind deflector.

Also: Is it worth ordering the carpeted floor mats or does the car come with some mats?

Brand new 2008 purchased a week ago.

Washed the car today and as I was drying the rear of the Veracruz, I noticed brownish-orange spots on top of the chrome tips. Looks like rust, but not below the chrome surface.

I have a new VC Limited Ultimate - excellent vehicle - I love it - BUT ... the FOB for the proximity key is such that the hatchback rear door open/close button accidentally activates when touches keys or change in my pocket. At least 5 times now I have noticed the back door wide open - at the parking lot at work - at my sister's house - at home - because the FOB button contacts other things...

When builing the car on the HyundaiUSA web site they list 2 different options for an air conditioner "kit".

The HyundaiUSA website shows a $299/month lease on the GLS FWD, but does not give any more detail. For other trims, it says call dealer.

Are they putting a rebate on the MSRP, giving a low finance rate or what? What kind of downpayment might they be requiring?
