Just asking for some tips...
How do I get the smallest amount of fuel to be eaten when driving I30? What is your experience? In what RPM - At what gear level? What speed?
I have petrol I30 (1.4) and so far my average combined (driving in town, mountanis and on highways too) consumption (after drivin 1500km only so far) is 6.8 - 6.9 litres per 100km.

Have had our i30 1.6l crdi for about six months now and am very pleased with it. I have always serviced my own vehicles (often in remote areas) and have plenty of experience with diesel 4wd's in particular. However, looking at the i30 engine bay, I can't see how to easily spin off/on the diesel cartridge filter as it has a 'shroud' around it. Is there some sort of trick to...

I have probably one of the first released i30 SR manaul petrol cars, purchased in Australia December 2007.
Since new we have had a problem with it stalling on rollout, you have to rev the engine to stop it from stalling.
When we told the dealer where we purchased the car about it months later, he said that there is a software update to fix the problem and to get the new software at our...

Guys, i got a new question for ya...
With new I30 I ordered - purchased Safety Matrices (to prevent stealing of Al - discs) for Wheel Discs. I realised that on each wheel - on my Aluminium Wheel Discs there are only 4 matrices, but there are 5 spots for the matrices to be put.
I'd like to ask you - Does it have to be like that? Is it OK? Or should I have 5 matrices...

Since Im new to owning a diesel vehicle, I got into a discussion with a friend of mine who has been driving trucks for many years, yes the truckies are going to be striking for a couple of weeks and I dont blame them at all, but thats another thread perhaps.
Time to stock up on groceries is my advice.
NEVER let your car run low on diesel, not only does it overheat the fuel...

Greetings all.
I have an I30 SLX petrol manual (only had it a couple of weeks).
In every brochure or online review I have seen on the I30, the trip computer seems to be an easy-to-read white or light blue readout on a darker blue background.
On mine however, the writing is a darkish blue on a black background. Needless to say, it's really hard to read,...

Hi All,
Since the launch of the i30 I have seen many "performance mods" (I use that term loosely) on Ebay for diesel vehicles, my understanding is these mods boost the fuel pressure at the rail and that is pretty much it...
Some of these so called performance modules cost in the hundreds (if not over a thousand) of dollars.
I am not interested in those,...

Checking my engine oil after 4880 miles, engine cold and overnight, I see that it has just moved to below Max.
Does anyone have any stats on oil useage for 1.6 diesels?
Reading the Handbook it mentions engines with the Particulate filter.
Do UK models have this as this will effect the oil to use?

My Husband and I were looking at the i30 online last night and were very interested in it. I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me about the car.
Firstly, how many anchor points does the car have? We will be needing 2.
Will there be enough space for 2 car seats and a booster seat across the back seat?

Hi Everyone,
Have updated the Flyer I prepared earlier to reflect our new URL etc...
So (for new members..) the idea is to print a handful to have in your car for when you spot an i30 in a car park or the like. Just slip one under the wipers and hopefully "pull" a few new members. Imagine we might not do better than say 1 in 10 as not everybody is a car fanatic.
