Dear itsat,
A Homelink rear-view mirror can be coded with your remote garage door opener code and then replaces the original remote. The Homelink mirror is permanently mounted in the vehicle, so losing that little garage remote is no longer a problem.
" The sophisticated HomeLink® integrated transceiver, incorporated into the inside rearview mirror of select Hyundai models, can operate compatible garage doors, gates, and home lighting and security systems. "
Tennis,
You are absolutely right that the 2007 Tucson Limited does not have the Homelink mirror as standard or an option.
I was trying to access the wiring schematics for the 2007 Sonata Limited rear view mirror versus the 2007 Tucson Limited. The Sonata does have a seperate Homelink 12 volt line in the connector and the ground is shared. Pins 6, 8, 9, and 10 are active.
The Tucson has an identical connector for the electrochromic mirror, but only pins 1, 6, and 10 are active. Drum roll...pin 6 is the 12 volt power in for both the Sonata and the Tucson applications.
You can make this work! You will have to reconfigure the wiring to the pins match the Sonata pattern for pins 6, 8, 9, 10, and run 1 additional power lead from pin 8 to the fuse box but you can make this work.
How expensive is the Homelink mirror from the dealer????
