ok i realize this is old... but...

on the kfx canada site (kfxperformance.ca) they list a short shift for out cars for 105 bucks with shipping. if i get a S/S im going to do the work my self so im not worried about voiding warranty. my question is, is it the b&m S/S or is it generic(sp)?? im too lazy to call them in b.c.

heres the story...my 08 accent is my first 5spd car (but i have tons of experience driving...also..i learned to drive on an 01 GSI accent lol)...anyways..i bought the shift kit when i bought the car..well i was expecting that theyd have it and put it on in time for delivery....well i was wrong..they had to order it and THEN they expected me to fuckin pay 200 bucks to get it put on!!!!!! i said screw that and i tackled it myself..i did it under the "2hours" they said it would take and save myself that 200 or whatever it was bucks...its easy as **** surprisingly...its a worth while unit..replaces all the plastic and rubber with anodized aluminum to make for a more crisper shift without any lee-way

..with that said..AND the fact that ive NEVER taken a shifter apart (other than automatic ones on my volvo lol)..i say DEFFINATLY do it yourself

ok so my trany or shifter is a pos. seriously, when the trans gets warmed up it sticks all the time. i have to push it through the gears or risk missing the shift and grinding the gear and that embarrasing. komp we talk about this when i first got the car but its in all the gears. when im not moving the shifts are perfect but when im driving its terrible. could it be the clutch? cuse if its gone in only 8 months im going to raise some heck at my deal cuse wear and tear on 9500 km doesnt equal a new clutch especially considering about a a little less then a quarter of those km is continuos highway travel

any ideas?

Go for it! buy the b&m shifter if you are worried about a warranty. You will have less issues than trying to fight a warranty claims dealing with an unsupported aftermarket shifter.
Also if you think your synchros are going out, deffinately pay the dealer to install the short shifter. I can almost garantee, they will deny a tranny repair if you install that shifter yourself.

If you read the instructions that came with the B&M it talks about the issue, You need to adjust the shifter.
