First I would like to say Hello to everyone, first post here. Wouldn't you know it is because I have problem, lol. I have used Internet forums for all the vehicles I have owned and they always come thru and save me MONEY!!
My Daughter has a 2001 elantra, It blows hot air out the vents while the car is up to cruising speed when all the controls are off, turning the control to cold doesn't matter, Also it doesn't seem like the Air conditioner is coming on at all, I don't here the condenser turn on when the a/c is pushed. and I have never heard the fan run since she bought it last Oct..
I have checked the anti-freeze level and it is good, I replaced the Thermostat last year right after she got it, because the heater didn't seem to be pushing much hot air out, seemed to help but not much.
I was thinking on swapping out the Temp control sensor? Anymore Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

Start by getting a proper diagnosis before you start throwing parts at it. It may be as simple as a blown fuse (you still have to find why it blew) or the dash may have to come out to access the blend doors. You will not be able to diag this yourself. I suggest you go to a dealer and buy an hours worth of diag and then you can throw all the parts you want.

I agree, it could be only a fuse. Or maybe a bad wire connection or switch. I had a problem with hot air blowing too. I found out that everything was good, except that a little bit of plastic wire-holder had broken behind the cold/hot air switch. So the wire used for moving the flaps behind the dashboard wasn't pulled......Took me a while to find out.

Cheers!
