Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum and have tried various other forums to no avail. I'm having some "serious" problems with my 2007 Terracan 2.9CRDi Automatic. Don't get me wrong when I say that I loved it when it was still running the way it should. I love the look on the Jeep and Land Rover owner's faces when I pull up to tow them out of trouble and when I make it through obstacles where they have to go a find alternative routes seeing that they just can't make it :)
Lately I've been having some serious problems which has seen this being turned around and now I'm the one being towed out of the easiest obstacles due to a serious lack of power and I'm not even talking about when I try and tow. Without exaggerating, I can tell you that I've switched to towing with my little 1.3 Ford Bantam lately seeing that it simply has more power than my Terry, which is not the way it should be. So I was wondering whether anyone on this site can help? The symptoms are as follows:
- The A/T light comes on when I'm using low range. According to the book you have to put it in neutral until the light goes off so the gearbox oil can cool down. Problem is you literally spend more time waiting for it to cool down than you are driving. - Dark smoke coming out when under strain, usually low range. - Struggles to get up to 120km/h even when not loaded on the highway - Extremely heavy on Diezel. I'm actually getting an average of 6.5km/lt when not under load - Hyundai's diagnostics machine doesn't pick up any problems and they just keep telling me that they can't find the problem. (Really helpful bunch they are)
So far they have replaced the Air Flow Meter twice, the Diezel Filter has been replaced multiple times, the air filter has been replaced 3 times and the rear diff has been replaced once. The thing is that it only has 25 000km on the clock and it is starting to really concern me seeing that for the last 15 000km I could really not use the vehicle for the purpose I bought it.
Any advice and help will be appreciated, please. I would love to start enjoying it again. I mean, on those trips that I did when it was still running the way it should, I was always pleasantly surprised at it's performance and I really didn't doubt in it's capabilities when I wanted to it.
Thanks Guys...
