Greetings all.

I have an I30 SLX petrol manual (only had it a couple of weeks).

In every brochure or online review I have seen on the I30, the trip computer seems to be an easy-to-read white or light blue readout on a darker blue background.

On mine however, the writing is a darkish blue on a black background. Needless to say, it's really hard to read, especially when the sun is bright. At night it's not to bad if you adjust the dash illumination to the right level.

Do any of you have a similar issue? Is mine faulty, or is it just the way Aussie SLX petrol models are made?

Cheers

Hi ptwhite2003

If you go to the following site you may find the answer to your question:

http://www.i30ownersclub.com/

The site was set up specifically for i30 onwners hence the name.

I don't have a problem reading the trip or odometer as these are bright but I do find a problem seeing the needle on the speedo.
It's OK when the lights are on

It's not your car but is a feature on all.

I find it hard to read during day light only if the lights are on which than dims the instrument display. As our car, slx has auto off headlights, we leave them on all the time. :)

Thats what the switch is for to the right, to adjust the brightness of the instruments, unfortunately, theres not much else that can be done.

I find the instruments easy to read, maybe its time to include more carrots in your diet :P
