Hey

I was wondering what type of engines could be swapped into a 1995 Hyundai Scoupe base model without having to replace the tranmission? The engine in it right now is a 1.5 liter engine .

Thank You

Okie im Going to try answer this question for everybody as this question has been asked a zillion times.

Modifying the 1500 N/A is a Big NONO,(no bang for buck) If you got the turbo lump its a big YES. Now the Scoupe has a wonderfull chassis and it just has its own awesome Unique Look. So if you wanna Role in your Scoupe for the next 5-10 years you looking at a Engine Swop. (Scoupe/alpha 1 Parts are scarce) So we will be looking at a new Engine. and it Most likely will be a New Alpha or new Beta,(New =After year 2000). Alpha will be cheaper(but from a upgrade perspective you wouldn't want to go threw the Entire Procedure and STILL have a 1500 (12v) Unless cash is a problem. Enter the Scoupe BETA Conversion. weather it's a 1600/1800/2000 its still going to require the some modification to fit/work.So if you can get the 2,0L go for it. if this is your first car i wouldn't recommend a engine swop. But if you dad/mates are mechanics and they wanna help you out go for it. i think a 2.0 N/A scoupe would be awesome, Now use the search button on this forum section and see what comes up as this topic has been discussed many times..
