Drives: 1998 hyundai excel
Hi, I have a 98 xl with what i think is a shot gearbox.It is a 5 speed manual. The drive shaft keeps popping out, i was told it could be the gearbox.I have found a replacement but it is from a 96 xl will it it be ok and is it really the gearbox thats gone.??
Please Help

there is a small metal circlip on the end of the drive shaft that locks the shaft into the gearbox....is it missing? make sure the drive shaft is pushed in hard at the gearbox so it locks into place, if it still pops out then it's a worn gearbox
