Twice now our "Check Engine" light has come on, The first time,I took it back to the dealer to check it out, but by the time of the appointment, three days later it went out. Fine....Now about a month later it went back on, and about 2 days later it went back out. Anybody have a clue about this crazy light, and NO it is not about the gas tank cap either! Thanks

I think the diagnostic code is stored even if the light goes out. Your dealership should be able to read and reset all stored codes for you free of charge since it's under warranty.

Make sure you are tightening your gas cap after each fill up. This could be the issue (happened to me once on my '07 Veracruz).

That happened to me also. have a 2007. It turned out that two oxygen sensors needed to be replaced. Everything has been fine since the replacements.

I also get a recurring Check Engine light. I checked then code with a scan tool and it is the heated O2 sensor.

They had a problem for a while with the O2 sensors in the 3.3s and 3.8s. I would highly suspect one of the four O2 sensors. The computer will store the hard code and the repair will be covered under warranty.

Now... if you go to AutoZone and they read the code and clear it, don't expect to then drive it over to the Hyundai dealer and have them fix it under warranty. Your dealer has to read the code.

I still don't understand why people post "what's wrong with my car, how can I fix it" when it's a brand new vehicle and fully covered under warranty...

I had the same problem to,so I went out and bought a code reader for $50 and found out that my wife wasent putting the gas cap on right. The reader I bought came with a cd that can get updates whenever you want. Great investment.
