QUOTE(heypal @ Oct 1 2008, 09:34 AM) Would I buy another Hyundai? Hard to say. My 2006 Azera has over 15,000 miles on it and as you can see I don't drive very much. The only problems is the suspension noise and the dimming of the headlights which I haven't had fixed yet. Other than that the car is fine. No cracks in the dash, no problem with the tires, transmission, speakers, paint, or leaks around the sunroof. The Azera has been a pretty good car so far. The best part is you never see many on the road so it looks like a new car all of the time. People look at it and wonder what it is.
If I go back to any Hyundai they need to get the bugs out of the headlights and suspension. I think Hyundai is on the right track but price, quaility and resale value is always a factor.
Would I buy another Hyundai? The jury is still out.
Heypal...I too had an issue with the headlights dimming on my 2006 Azera. Funny thing is, when I first bought the car...I can't say the issue presented itself. However, it ended up being something that got worse and worse as time went on. Well, I ended up replacing my battery because I was having issues with the battery dying on me and guess what...the light dimming issue disappeared with the new battery in place. The suspension...sorry, my Azera falls in the build timeframe before the bad shocks/struts were used, so I don't have any of those issues.

On the headlight problem. It was the same for me. When I purchased the Azera I never had a problem with the lights dimming. As soon as the car got about 11,000 miles on it one night I noticed the dimming. The battery is fine as far as I know. Never had a problem with that so far, knock on wood.
I did post the dimming issue here on this board and found out there has been a TSB issued by Hyundai about the Azera dimming problem and the matter in hand is a wiring problem and it can be replaced without a charge under warrenty. From what I have read the problem with the headlight dimming is not caused by the battery. You may want to check this out. I still need to get it check out and today I looked for that tread and can't find it.
Can someone print the link for the TSB on the headlight dimming issue. I tried to get on the Hyundia site again but for some reason I can't log in.
Thanks Heypal...I too never thought there was an issue with the battery. And to be quiet honest...you may have a good battery, it just may not really be good enough to handle the needs of your car. I can assure you, ever since upgrading to a new battery...the light dimming has gone away. I'm not saying that yours would definitely be fixed in the same manner, but it's another option to explore should you get the wiring taken care of and still experience the issue. At any rate, good luck!

I would definitely consider another Azera. Yes, I have had the dash replaced, as well as the sunshade. But that's what warranties are for. I put about 1500 miles on mine every 3 weeks. I'm approaching 33K now. No suspension issues at all. My only current gripes are the lousy light output on low-beams, and my trip computer will occasionally and randomly reset itself. All in all, I'm more than satisfied by my car. It's big, pretty, comfortable, and to-date very reliable.
As with others, my issue will be dealer choice. I most definitely will NOT be purchasing from Hyundai of Houma ever again. Morons. Damaged my car while doing a warranty repair and refused to make it right. Wound up costing me over $300 at another Hyundai dealer to fix it! I would purchase from the second dealer though, Patterson Hyundai in Wichita Falls Texas, as they are also a BMW dealer and have a service department that knows how to treat a customer properly. That's the key I think. Find a Hyundai dealer that also sells an established luxury brand. You'll be MUCH more satisfied!

QUOTE(boostedfc3s @ Oct 2 2008, 03:49 PM) Well my SM finally did something right....
Since my sun shade blew up I called him directly. I told him its a waste of everyone's time for me to bring in the car for you to have it all day to say "gee its broken, we'll order you a new one". He's just ordering me a new shade without looking at it and will install it when it comes in saving me a trip.
Lucky duck. They haven't been willing to lift a finger, even look anything up on the computer at my dealer, give me any labor estimates or part prices, without "bringing it in". Not everyone has enough flexibility to flush two hours in the middle of the business day to go show the dealer, "Yes, it is EXACTLY what I said it was." The Jag dealer will do as much footwork as they can for you before you bring the car out - prices, estimates, scheduling the time to bring the car in, pre-ordering the parts. And they do all of that as a matter of course. I might try a different Hyundai dealership next time. "Next time" meaning... as soon as one of the Azeras has been driven into the ground. At 1500 miles per year... that should occur by the end of this century.

Concerning the low light output, upgrade your bulbs to something like the Silver Star Ultras by Sylvania. I noticed a big difference when I did.

IF I messed with the lights at all, I'd definitely go HID.
