So I went to my local Hyundai dealer. Originally I saw an ad in the paper that had an 08 GS Tiburon @ 13,490.

I would have checked out for that price on that day. However, that's a barebone model and only if you qualify for every rebate.

In any case, I went back and forth about the GT and GS alot, and had a hard time deciding between the two.

They had a Black 08 GS with a sunroof in stock, and I wanted that one instead of waiting.

From the start, I said I was going to put $3000 down on the car. It stickers for about $20,000.

We got him all the way down to $14,000.



Everything was going way too smoothly...

We were filling out all the paperwork, and then the Finance guy said something about paying taxes on the $14,000 after the $3000.

So basically, the whole time we were talking about prices, he had figured in the $3000 down.

I actually bought this car for $17,000.... NOT $14,000.

I was completely shocked, but I didn't want to back out after all of that.



So basically--- Is this car worth $17,000.... is that still a good deal?

If it's a 2008 GS Automatic with the Premium Package (cruise and sunroof), then the invoice price is $18,425.

Yeah-- So I actually made out. The check engine light came on, it's got some scratches, and the wheel was shaking at 60. I've got some things they got to take care of, and I think I'll be all set.

Wow already? And it's an '08? My '07 had none of those problems out of the lot. I got mine for 15,000 after a 3000 trade in for my '03 Elantra, so I'd say yours was a fair deal.
