Check engine light came on today after what seemed like the car was stuck in 2nd gear. Took it to Autozone and registered a P715 and P1529 error code. It's at Hyundai now for an $85 diagnostic fee. From what I've read on here, seems like a common problem? My car is an 01, 106k miles. Just replaced plugs the other day and wires about 6 mos ago.

Has anyone had the sensor replaced by Hyundai? Just wondering how much they charged to have it fixed. Hopefully it won't break the bank. The sensor I read in someone else's post was around $66...

Diagnostic fee? Did you give them the codes you got from the auto parts? That will save you from having to pay Hyundai for doing it and pulling the very same codes you have already recieved for free.

i had the same problem

check your intake manifold gasket

mine blew out @ cylinder 2

causing a 3rd gear fail safe in the tranny to save it self
that explains the slow starts

mine also messed with the RPM's in park

they would go from 1500 to 2500 RPM's after driving for a while

cheap 6 dollar gasket at napa or AZ

took me an hour to change it myself
