My sister has a I4 2.0 l, 2wd 2005 tucson, I had some time without drive her car, but now I`ve noticed that is really hard to make the engine reach more than 3000 revs, at that point is really, really noisy and vibrates even if the car is parked in neutral. It feels like It dont have power enough to accelerate more than that point, I dont remember that the engine did that before. Between 1000 and 2800-3000 revs feels ok, but is strange how it feels beyond that range.
Does anyone had noticed anything like that?

This definitely sounds as though something has failed- I would suggest that the Tucson is taken into a Hyundai Dealer for him to check the electronics unless you are able to give us the fault codes.

As her car is 2005 it is probably still covered under the 5 year warranty (dependant on where you live as in some countries the warranty is only 3 years)

Get it checked out soon as it could damage the engine.

Cheers

Hi.
My last car a 2005 fiat croma suffered the same problem at 46K miles, there was no engine warning light coming on on the dash board either. It turned out that the catilytic convertor needed 'regenerating'. Basically they cleaned it out with some carbon removal fluid, I was told that is the firt sign of the cat due for replacement. it cost £75 to be done and was not covered by the warranty.

I was suprised the engine warning light did not come on the dashboard.

cheers.
