I just got my 2001 Accent back about 7 hours ago from the shop. I got an engine replaced for the second time in a year. I did a little test driving tonight and as I was pulling out of my street I accelerated but there was a couple second delay and the car took off. I had no tranny problems before I gave it to my mechanic. It did the same thing about 4 or 5 times on my test drive. My mechanic said he had to fix a bent plate and said something about the torque converter being replaced. I do not understand why it is slipping like it is. I have never had a single problem with my transmission until now.
