Test drove the Genesis with tech package and was quite impressed, but there were two concerns. One of them is a disappointment, I guess--the driver's seat is cooled, but not the passenger's seat, which seems like an odd bit of corner-cutting.
However, the real surprise for me was that neither the salesman nor I could find any way to initiate random play from an iPod connected via the Hyundai iPod connector cable. We could get the playlists to show up, we could skip ahead, move back... but no random. The manual explained how do initiate random play in pretty much every other mode--even with a USB drive--but that step was not present with an iPod.
We tried setting the iPod to shuffle before connecting it, but that didn't do anything; Hyundai's software still gave us an alphebetical song listing once I chose the playlist I wanted to hear.
Tried two different iPods, even, just in case one was quirky.
Anyone found a way to make an iPod play in random order? I have 15,600 songs on an iPod, broken into 30 different playlists, and I really don't want to have to listen to them all in alphabetical order!
