Hi,
I did something really stupid at the weekend which I could kick myself for! Anyway here goes I turn around off a steep country road facing upwards, and try to set off and the car stalls (the car is actually accidentally in 3rd gear and I thought it was in 1st!). Rather than twig that I am in the wrong gear I pile on the revs and try to start again and of courese it stalls. It is at this point that I realise my mistake, put it into 1st gear and start up the hill and my accent wasn't happy at all it made it halfway up the hill and was not driving very smoothly at all and stalled halfway up. Started the car again and my Accent started to regain its composure and parked up in a car park further up the hill. I spent the rest of the day worrying then that the car wasnt going to start on our way home, so on the way home the car seemed fine but I have noticed that the bite point has definitely changed quite a bit. My car is ok accelerating and the clutch doesnt seem to be slipping i.e. the revs dont seem to be higher than the speed the car is actually moving, but I am definitely worried that I have pretty much burnt my clutch out and I dont really want to go to the garage as I cant really afford it as of yet, so all I want to know is should I go to the garage and get it checked out or do you think that there is nothing to worry about until I see the telltale signs of the clutch starting to slip?
Thanks
Jim
