Yesterday at work we got 3 more in, a black one, red one and blue. I love the red and blue. The blue and red had the premium plus package and the black one had the technology package. The rear backup camera was horrible! The screen was very fuzzy and had a lot of static and the picture was very distorted.

After I cleaned the black one I asked my boss if I could drive it down to Hyundai( it's a mile and a half away) because they want these down on the lot. I am even more in love with this car, the ride is amazing, had great pickup and I love how it feels like a big car. I felt like I was driving an LS. It just had that feeling when you turned and drove and I like big cars. I really like where the radio controls are and it did take me a minute to figure them out. I don't like how you can't change the station when it's in reverse, what if your passenger wants to change it? I thought the radio display was really cool as was the backlit gauges. The stitching on the dash seemed top quality. I wasn't thrilled with the sound system. I have driven many cars and I think THX in Lincoln's and Mark Levinson's are the best.

The human resource guy at work now drives an Audi A6 which the lease is up and it has been in for service alot, I'm trying to convince him to get a Genesis.

I am very impressed with the Genesis and loved almost everything about it. We now have 5. Alot of people are asking about the V8's. Who wants to lend me $40,000? :bwekk:

So you drove the Tech PKG with the Lexicon system? If so, you didn't like the quality? Were you listening to the radio or CD/IPOD? Does it have a 15 or 17 speaker system?

Haven't had a chance to test drive one yet........ want to though.... waiting for the Tau

Yes it had the Tech package and I used FM on the radio and XM and I thought it sounded horrible, not sure how many speakers it had. I also found the tires to be very noisy.

That is very odd. I have driven the V8 Tech Package and the backup camera was very clear and the the 17 speaker audio was amazing in the test car although I am sure they spent time adjusting the sound system before test drive.

Maybe something got messed up on the black one during production/delivery?

We have received a total of 5 also, but only one with the tech package. I found both levels of Lexicon systems to be outstanding, crystal clear at even very high volumes (before we even adjusted it, this was right off the truck). The backup camera was also very clear, much better than I expected.

If your passenger wants to change the station while you're in reverse, just tell 'em to wait... geez... lol. It's not like you're driving for miles in reverse, right?

I am very impressed with the Genesis, and can't wait to see if the Genesis Coupe will have the same level of quality when they arrive in February.

What are you talking about? I drive in reverse all the time, doesn't everyone :bwekk:

I looked at the blue one yesterday but I found out today that the red one also has the tech package so I'm going to take that one out for a drive tomorrow and see if it's any better. I have a feeling the camera just needs the resolution or whatever adjusted. I was down at Hyundai today and saw the black one was still sitting in the back where I parked it and it wasn't inspected yet. I am going to tell the service manager about the camera and see if they can do anything about it. There was a clear piece of plastic to protect the screen and I took that off but it made no difference. It certainly wouldn't help anyone.

I was talking to the Hyundai manager today and he told me to take our silver one and clean it up for the showroom. Service is across the parking lot about 100 ft and we have an area in the middle for 6 cars in a circle. The other Genesis' will be going in there.

Also when I was down there a Hyundai rep showed up in a Black Noir base Genesis, I don't like those wheels at all.

On a side note, Azera sales have picked up.

Odd; I thought the image on the backup camera was excellent, and I loved the extension lines that indicated where your steering would take you. Had a 2007 MDX prior to getting the Genesis, and the MDX had a much less sophisticated backup camera.

As for the sound system--well, I loved Elliot Scheiner's system in the Acura MDX, but the hardware itself was far too limited (no audio playback from a DVD-Video source, for instance). I tried the Cadillac CTS and the Lexus 460 and thought that their best sound systems seemed mushy and indistinct.

But the Genesis, by comparison, was rich and full and resonant and distinctive, and I loved the sound quality.

So I bought one!
