Hello I am new to the forum and have a question about the rear rightside brake. My wife started to notice a slight grinding noise coming from that area. I immeadiatly thought it was the brake. but should the brakes be worn now? it only has 26000 miles on it. any feedback would be appreciated.

Actually, the rear brakes do sometimes wear out before the fronts on Elantras. 26k miles seems early, but mine were pretty much gone by 40k, so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.

What year car do you have, and do you have rear drums or discs?
