hey guys...just wanting to find out what other people would want..
i am getting the car in winter time when my lease is up..

when i was looking at the prices...

v6 w/ premium plus pack...is $36000
v8 (which has all of the premuim plus pack) ...is $38000

would i want to pay extra 2G for the extra HP?

which one would you rather take?

also...i heard on the v8...you can put regular gas as well...is that true?

Why would'nt you go for the V8? The re-sale is probably going to make up the difference down the line, I would imagine. Your not going to be putting thousands of dollars in the bank for a tiny fuel economy difference, so that's a non-issue.

I'm waiting for the 4.6. I've never owned anything other than a V8 and I'm going to make a life long commitment to it.

There is no better feeling in the world when cruisin' the highway and knowing you've got some balls under the hood.

I know some V6's these days can keep up with most V8's, but the feel, torque and sounds can not compare.

Definitely waiting on the V8. You can run regular or premium. You won't get the 375HP unless you run premium, on regular I think it's about 360HP.

Premium:
375 hp
333 lb ft

Regular:
368 hp
324 lb ft

The V8 also weighs approx 250 lbs. more., gets 2mpg worse fuel economy, and only accelerates from 0-60 .5-.8 seconds quicker. On the flip side, it has nicer leather and a few other gadgets not on the V6 (illuminated scuff plates, auto-dimming sideview mirrors, wood steering wheel, etc.). For the poster who brought up resale, I guarantee the V6 will hold it's value better. Even ALG is predicting this. V8 cars are not appealing in the day and age of $4 gasoline. Insurance should also be quite a bit cheaper on the V6 FWIW.

My opinion? Only you can decide what's right for you. If you put a high priority on having a "fast" car, only the V8 will do. The V6 is quick, but it's no V8. Still, I love my V6. :)

Well after testing both the V6 and the V8 I am waiting for the V8.

Before the test drive I thought the V6 would not be so bad since its only fractions of a second slower. After I test drove them (V8 tested first then the V6 both had regular gas) it was to me a very noticeable difference and at that point I knew the V8 was more attuned to my driving habbits. :3gears:

You can drive a V8 like a V6, but you can't drive a V6 like a V8.

Doesn't the V8 have a feature that cuts off a couple of cylinders at crusing speed ? Until needed of course.

No it doesn't, but it's still one of the most efficient V8 engines in the marketplace.

Couldn't wait--I went for the V6. (The dealer told me at the time that the V8 wouldn't be available for a couple of months, and I lacked that much patience.)

I would most likely get a the V6, the V8 only improves performance by half a second which is not that much of a difference. I do like the V8 engine.

I would like to note that this is the only car I have ever seen that ok'd regular or premium unleaded. If there is another car that actually allows this in the manual and advertised, I don't remember it. Shows just how advanced and smart these guys are.
Now if only the dealers I have gone to knew their product enough to tell people this and other correct info.
So far there has been a laundry list of crap salesman have told me that was not remotely true.

One told me the 14 speaker system was their top of the line. After hearing it, I remarked "I hope not..."

You can get a v6 tech for under 40K. Of course that is without the taxes and all the other fees.

Well... yes, of course you can. Isn't the MSRP for the V6 w/ tech package $39,000?
