Hi everyone,

I have come to you as my last resort. I purchased a 2000 Sonata gls v6 about a month ago. Since the beginning it has had a hard time starting when the engine is cold. Once it starts the car runs good, except for the random stalling. I'll try to explain exactly what happens.

I turn the key, engine turns for about 10-12 times and then the car starts, very rough idling for about 1 minute and then its fine. I arrive at my destination, turn off the car and for testing purpose i start it again and it starts like a champ. If i leave and come back 10 minutes later, same starting problem again.

So far i've changed the fuel filter, apparently the mechanic told me it was very very rusty, did treatment for injectors (cleaner) and changed spark plugs.

I really need to find a solution to this, i have no background in cars, any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Harry

Do you have a MIL or CEL on? When was the last time you flushed your coolant and changed your thermostat? You may also want to check you O2 sensors. If you was close to me I'd plug in my code reader for ya to see if anything shows up. Sometimes you can have codes without the CEL coming on.

I changed the oxygen sensors, we plugged the car to the computer and its not giving any codes.

Two days ago the car started to turn on right away like a champ, maybe 2 engine turns at most, but once in a while the car stalls when i come to a stop.

Really weird! Any ideas??
