I have a '02 accent 1.5l sohc changing timing belt. I don't have a cam timing mark that suppose to be located on the head. according to tech pics it should be on the right side of the head, with the cam gear mark at the 3:00 position. there's also a mark at 12:00. both marked with a white mark and arrow. Again, there's no mark on the head where it should be..... has any body ran into this problem? perhaps you could help me....I'm at wit's end...lol Thanks

before you take the belt off. as long as you are sure you have the crankshaft mark at TDC then you can make your own paint mark on the camshaft cog.

thanks for the reply... the problem is cog's were sheared off the belt, and in my trouble shooting the reason the car wouldn't run I turned it over several times trying to diagnose the problem. when I discovered that the cam wasn't rotating by removing the upper cover but the belt appeared to be in tacked, I rotated the cam by hand bringing around the smooth spot on the belt. so what I'm trying to say is both the crank & cam have been turned unsimultaneously. I have the crank mark's aligned at TDC but unsure about the cam because of no mark's on the head...........
