Hi Rich, The little engine light just means that the emissions are slightly out of default, the lambda sensor is either dirty or faulty.
They can be cleaned, but best to check if its actually working, take it to a local Hyundai garage, or a decent non franchise garage with a fault code reader, if it says something like 0170, then it means that the lambda sensor had died. Don't worry too much, tha car will still run, it just means that the ECU has had to compensate for this so that the engine will still run. However if it starts to cough and splutter, or not start at all its a bit more seriouse.
There is an easy (and cheap) fix, get a bottle of Wynnes Dry Fuel Additive and Wynnes Injector/ Fuel System Cleaner. This gets rid of condensation in the tank (Wynnes Dry Fuel Additive) and cleanses the fuel injection system (Wynnes Injector/ Fuel System Cleaner), run the car for about 50 miles and this should have cleaned all the gunk out of the system, and the light should turn itself off.
If not get it booked in, odds on that it will be a dead Lambda Sensor
