I have seen a lot of people wondering about the lwb and was seriously astonished to find out that they have already released it here for about a month. As you can see it has a 3.3l V6 possibly the same one in Azera

Great idea, I vote for this solution.May I suggest the thread title start with LWB? e.g. "LWB Tow Hitch". Then those not interested in the LWB don't have to read the whole title.
+1...to both John's and Angelo's suggestions.Great idea, I vote for this solution.
Also, members should make sure to specify their model/trim/packages in their user profile.
Actually, the combining of your hitch thread into this one was the primary impetus for my suggestion to start creating separate "LWB" threads.I started a hitch thread a few weeks ago and it got moved into this big one.
Luck, you deserve the credit. It was your idea. I simply moved the "LWB" from the end to the front of the thread title.+1...to both John's and Angelo's suggestions.

Thanks, but they are significantly different in many ways. The front to the B-pillar is about the same, but the rest is different, including the 5 vs 6 or 7 seating configuration, sheet metal, lights in the rear, hitch etc. Furthermore, the LWB has a 6cyl vs the 4 cyl engines in the Sport. Now, I agree that perhaps a sub forum has its disadvantages as you say, but on the other hand, it would also help "unclutter" the main forum from additional threads at are only LWB specific. Anyway, either way works for me, as long as LWB specific threads are created and not moved/merged into this one.If the only diff between the LWB and the non is the length of the wheelbase, I don't see the need to diverge.
As some of you may know, as the Elantra mod, I do not have separate subforums for Elantra and Elantra Coupe because they are almost identical from the cockpit perspective, with minor cosmetic differences aside from the obvious difference in door count. We do have a separate subforum for Elantra GT, but that's because the GT actually has significant differences both inside and out from the sedan and the coupe.
If you split it up over something like a wheelbase, then you force the members going for advice relevant for BOTH models to have to browse two separate subforums to find information.
Just my two cents.![]()
I see where you are headed, but disagree because the new LWB has WAY more in common with the SWB (or the Sport) then the Veracruz. I think that jumping from sub-forum to sub-forum would be a bit of a pain as noted by em-squared, but doing so between 1st tier forums would be even worse. I say either leave all threads in one forum, OR create a sub-forum for LWB under 2013+ Santa Fe, not under Veracruz. My $0.02. (sorry, $0.05 since Canada eliminated the penny. You should create the new 'DM 2013+ Santa Fe LWB' subforum under Veracruz forum, since that's what LWB really is, a new, renamed (due to brand recognition reasons) VC. The decision to keep the long and short WB versions of the same platform (Santa Fe vs VC) in separate forums was done already years ago...![]()

I agree totally. please feel free to create new threads on specific LWB issues or questions. We can leave this one open for general talk.Folks, this thread was originally started with the objective of sharing info on LWB model and its impending release.
I have been vocal about not creating duplicate threads to keep this forum management, but I wonder if the time has come, now that the LWB is out and folks are starting to fiddle with it (),to begin creating separate threads on discussions that are LWB specific and on specific issues. My concern is that lumping "everything LWB" into this thread will create a monster of a thread that will be difficult to follow when different issues and are being discussed simultaneously.
For example, I suspect the hitch for the LWB might be different from the one from the Sport given the towing capacity. Should we start a separate thread title something along the lines of "Tow Hitch for LWB" to discuss this? Or how to remove 3rd row seat in the LWB? Or replacement of tail, fog lights or bumper reflectors in the LWB? I am inclined to say yes, as long as LWB is clearly in the thread title.
However, I would suggest that where discussions exist on topics that apply to the Sport and the LWB (eg. something to do with the radio given that they are common between the two models; HID conversion which could be the same on both, or bulb replacement as most are likely to be the same on both), duplicate threads should NOT be created.
This thread can remain for general info on the model, future models, updates etc.
Thoughts? Perhaps a John, as a moderator, can provide some guidance?
Well congrats!!! I am truly jealous as I await mine to arrive.New 2013 Sante Fe Limited in Frosted Mocha with Beige Interior finally delivered this morning.
Georgia dealership was awesome enough to put us in a new 2013 Sante Fe Sport until they found a Limited that we wanted. They drove roughly 2 hrs. this morning to deliver the Limited.
My local dealership needs to take notes. I went in there 2 weeks ago to purchase a Limited from them and as I was in the process of signing the documents to sign off on the deal they let another couple come in and take the Limited I was purchasing for a test drive. My son and I waited for 30 mins for them to return, which they did not. So I grab my check and the documents and tore them up in front of the salesman and told him I hope he has a wonderful day.
That's INSANE! The fact that the sales man didn't put a stop to that just blows my mind. I would have been livid. I know you didn't sign the docs yet, but you were in that final stage. I'd never go to that dealership ever again. My local dealership needs to take notes. I cannot believe that your local dealer actually pulled that stunt. I would have been livid!! In fact, when I ordered mine, I expressly made it clear that I do not want anyone stepping in or driving mine when it comes it. The sales manager assured me (in writing) that my new XL will not be used as a tester or to show other customers. Good for you for tearing the contract and walking out. Hopefully they learned something.

My Limited came in on a Wednesday and I went to the dealership on that Saturday morning. My salesman took me to the back, where it was covered, with a sign saying that it was not to be touched by anyone. Treatment like that will bring me back to that dealership next time around.
Thanks for the new subforum.......Ok guys, your wish came true, a new subforum for the LWB has been created!!!
