Well I do all my own services and checked my VIN - not eligible for any freebies. From my perspective I don't see why the MY would matter, but an owner being what Hyundai would consider a loyal customer and using their dealer services could be the determining factor, but just speculating. In any event congrats on the freebie, my wife and I were recently on a long road trip and I remarked that our nav - from oct 2012 is getting long in the tooth but not yet ready to pluck 100 big ones down for the upgrade as in my mind it should be a nominal charge ~ $25.

I believe it should be free for at least 5/60 warranty period.

Hi all

Took the wife's Santa Fe to replace the right fog lamp assembly and the service writer told that the car was due gor a free, yes free, navi system map update. I did not ask what the update was all about.

Anyway, they had to order the new card.

Anyone knows what this is all about?
This came up before I even got the card in the mail advising me of the update!

When I set up the appointment with the dealer for an oil change, a note came up in the dealers system that read as follows:

2014MY navi system update pending.
Manufacturer campaign.

So, I would presume that all 2014 with navi would be updated!

Must be something else. I had warranty work done on the transfer case, and buy my oil filters at the dealer, otherwise they haven't seen me in 2.5 years. I have an update on the way thanks to this site (no card received either). What are the model years of your family's SFs dtech?

Keep us updated. I had my 2013 in for an issue with the tail gate latch release yesterday and I was talking with the service adviser about the level of scam it is that they charge $50 for the SD card on top of the map update and he told me to hold off as they've been told they'll rolling out Android Auto for the 13-16 models by the end of the year. Of course nothing in writing to back that up.

They do list the 16 as getting it already and he confirmed the 13 - 16 use the exact same part number radio so technically there no reason why the 13-15 can't get it.
anyone else know if getting Android Auto will happen for 2014 santa fe sport??

Just got my Free Ver 10 GPS update. There are different update numbers for the SFS and SFL.

Has anyone found out why certain 2014 models are getting the update free.
My wife's 2014 2.0T is getting one and my 2014 2.4 is not according to the Mnsoft website ? ?

Unless it has to do with build dated or map version?!?!

Just updated to Ver 10 for free. It wipes your XM and AM/FM channels but saves you GPS favorites and previous destinations. Took 20 min. Took out CD and did not have any phone nearby. Lets see if it can find Route 191 in Newfoundland, PA ! ! !

Just updated the 2014 2.0T with the free ver 10. Took 20 min. Took out the CD and had no phones nearby (as stated in the instructions).

Tried the new map.
Nope... Rt 191 in Newfoundland PA does not exist ? ? That's with the new map.
It's stated as Rt 501, 191 turns into Rt 501 for a few miles, then 501 and 191 splits in Newfoundland.
So if you need to find a Route number. Put in the state, and town, then just put in "r" and press "search".
Wait a bit and your RT (route) roads will display, along with any roads beginning with "R". But unless you check before hand, my location on the flier just stated Rt 191 Newfoundland.
So if it is a joint road for a few miles, you'l have to figure out which road they identify.
Not sure what they do with highways (HWY), I had trouble with another GPS and finally Googled it and the had the "actual" road name. Put the road name in (not Hwy 321) and the GPS found the hotel.

The supplied instructions that come with the update (advise) you remove any CD and not have bluetooth enabled on your phone. So, if you plan to install the new "memory card" to install the update, remove any CD you have in that car and don't bring your cell phone near the car for the duration of the update.

Hope that clarifies things.
PS the memory card is a "secure digital" card with a super hidden area on the card with the update info. As of now, there is no way to hack (copy) this card.

Other car companies use CD's to update, and there are many hacks to copy them.

I took my ’14 SFS in for the free navigation update at the dealer. It was annoying that it wiped all of my satellite & AM presets, and bluetooth phones.

But there is an awesome new feature I’m surprised nobody has mentioned yet- you no longer have to hit “I AGREE” on the startup screen! There is a startup screen that gives the standard legal warning, and there is a “CONFIRM” button. However, the screen disappears after a few seconds of driving. This is a great change!
